  • Scientific Literacy

    I currently go to University now. Finally. 

    It's totally great but there's this one subject that I absolutely loathe to death. I think it's because it has no use to me and I find it annoying when people or even inanimate things tell me how to do things and how to react and feel. If I don't take steps like that from a person, what makes this shit think I would listen to it. 

    Scientific Literacy is a course that helps one study science but to me it's how to study in general. Here she is, my lecturer goes on about how things distract you. She said that pets and music distract. Maybe you shouldn't use so much high lighter because the colours will distract one's mind by making it linger. Then I thought to myself: this is exactly how I study thank you very much, and I have made it here, it does not make me a failure just because I don't study the way she does. 

    The other day we were learning about Summarising, reflecting and now we are learning about synonyms. What the hell man, does this even count as a university subject. This is absolutely frustrating. I sit there and be bored out of my mind. 

    There with my uni-friends, we have mutual feelings about this stupid subject and we just try to keep ourselves entertained in this lecture. It's a little but harder in our tutorials though, since my tutor is the same as my lecturer and she doesn't like mobile phones so much, she would just take our cell phones. T__T I don't like her. 

    When she told all the students that she developed this course, I wanted to sigh so loudly and ask who the hell did she fuck or bribe to pass this as a course.

     

    Anyway I'm tired as shit from listening to that lady talk on about shit that didn't even fnsoifh'fhw;fhg'sfh forgot what I was saying.

    So I have all these random youtube videos I upload because I always have a feeling that somehow if my phone drops in the ocean (again), I'd lose all my videos.

    Most of them are of my dog doing rather odd or cute things, since he's a cute and odd dog.

  • #SOPA ended but Still Stressed

    I'm still a little bit stressed because of my online jobs i.e. Facebook and tumblr. 

    I don't work much on tumblr, usually when the site just wants to have an upgrade or it's over used or failing, they'd hire me to help them patch shit up, since they need to do things as soon as possible. Facebook is a little more stable and they're not as rushed and crazy like Tumblr. I recently got a job on Facebook and the developers were going crazy about certain things, in particular the site is starting to get a lot of bugs due to unstable system. There's 2 layouts on Facebook, new and old layouts and people are switching to new. So 2 layouts = 2 separate servers. That's kind of a nutter right now, so they are going to force all those who are on old layout to new layout probably end of this month or next, depending on what the fuck they're up to right now. I'm not in  charge of it but they discuss a lot about it on the threads. 

    Just a little concerned about this SOPA shit. Developers are going crazy because there are laws in America about copyright, even without SOPA and that managed to take down a site called MEGAUPLOAD, which is one of the most popular on the world wide web for file storage and also downloading. What's a little crazy about this one is that a lot of internet peeps use it as a piracy bank. And American feds went to Auckland, New Zealand and arrested the guy who owned this site.

    Developers are talking about how to change or ideas on how to stay under these laws so we don't get into trouble. Another bad thing is that I lost 2 of my Facebook job roles as Advertiser and Photo server. #Sucks 

    My opinions on this act? Okay no offence to Americans Politics but this is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I don't see why the fuck out of all problems they would travel all the way from their fat thrones in the US on Commonwealth land and arrest some guy that opened a website. We have bigger problems, maybe they should deal with their recession and nation debt right now, than arrest Kiwis. 

    That's not a smart move because the internet is a very good way of expanding the economy and all this fuckery about money in which I don't really understand much about (Hey, I'm a science freak, not a economist). Censoring the internet isn't going to help, if anything it would make matters worse.

  • VOTE NO FOR SOPA/PIPA

    #SOPA stands for Stop Online Piracy Act. 
    This is going to cause a lot of problems for internet users because there's a lot of sites that 'borrow' copyrighted material. Especially youtube and Facebook. Google too. So all those sites are going to be shut down if this proposition is legalised. Even though I am Australian, it's so bad because Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and my XANGA will be banned. And as a teenager, the internet is especially important to enjoy arts, music, film and sharing them with friends. I don't know about others but I don't download a lot, but either way, I think this Act is completely STUPID! 

    I thought this comment was funny. Saw it on the video below.

    If any wrongly accused and it was to be shut down, they already lost millions and millions of dollars.

    and if Authorities think it's bad then it's immediately shut down without even asking. This kind of ironic because they're invading the interface and privacy of THAT to snoop around on it. 

    What I really hate is FaceBook, Twitter, Tumblr and Xanga will be... gone. Not that I care about Facebook but TWITTER oh god.
    Okay that's not the worse part. GAMERS, say goodbye to your online communication. All games that have a way of talking to each other will most likely be shut down too. DOTA, etc. 
    I think this is unfair and this is coming from someone that lives a squillion miles away from the United States. Yes we hear about this stuff too.

    The government is taking over the internet.
